MSU Children's Health Initiative is the direct beneficiary of MSU Dance Marathon. Founded by Dr. H. Dele Davies, MSU C.H.I. is on a mission to bring "an integrated and comprehensive" children's health care system to Mid-Michigan.
    MSU Children's Health Initiative fundraises to realize its long-term goal of building a children's health facility here in Mid-Michigan. It is also their goal to provide funding for the immediate needs of the families and children who receive care from  MSU Health Clinics at Sparrow Hospital. Events such as the Teddy Bear Picnic and the 3-Point Challenge bring in the kind donations of the community as well as community involvement with the organization. MSU Children's Health Initiative is such a special organization in that it is based on the Michigan State campus, readily accessible to the students and the Lansing community. 
    Michigan State University exhibits its involvement through the College of Human Medicine, Department of Pediatrics and Development, as well as being sponsored by the MSU Women's Basketball Team. Coach Suzy Merchant holds a position on the board of directors as the Honorary Chairperson. 
    This organization involves itself with those who need it most, the children. MSU Children's Health Initiative sponsors Children of Inspiration, those children who, themselves and their families, have experienced incredible odds and obstacles in their journeys to live among the community while seeking medical attention. These children inspire the members of dance marathon to give and dedicate themselves to the cause, raising money to aid and facilitate medicine to these children. 
    This is a fantastic organization, bringing support to the children and families in need of it, as well as being home to the MSUDM advisors, Dr. Davies, Ph.D., MsC, and Pamela Miklavcic, Ph.D..
